Cosmetic Bonding

Bonding is a cosmetic procedure that uses tooth-colored materials that are attached or bonded to the tooth surface.  The process can improve slightly stained teeth, bonding can be used to repair broken or chipped teeth, and close small gaps between teeth.

Composite bonding material is tooth colored and can be closely matched to the color or existing teeth, it is more aesthetically suited for use in front teeth or the more visable areas of the teeth.

Reasons for composite bonding?

  • Chipped teeth
  • Closing space between two teeth
  • Worn teeth
  • improve the appearance of discolored teeth

How is composite bonding placed?

Composite bonding is usually done in one appointment.  The area of the tooth will be thoroughly cleaned and carefully prepared before the new bonding is placed.  The bonding will then be trimmed, shaped, and polished to match the gloss of the rest of the tooth/teeth.
